Training Gap Analysis compares what people need to do (from the Role Performance Statement) with what training already exists (from the Formal Training Statement). This tells us where we have gaps that need new training.
Each task is compared against existing Training Objectives (TOs) to find the best match. The match score determines the gap status:

|---|---|---|
| TRAINED | 80% or higher | This task is already covered by existing training. No action needed - the training exists and is suitable. |
| PARTIAL | 50% - 79% | This task is partly covered. Some training exists but doesn't fully meet the requirement. May need workplace training to fill the gap. |
| RTGS | 30% - 49% | Residual Training Gap. Low match found. The organisation may decide to accept this risk rather than create new training. |
| GAP | Below 30% | Training gap identified. No suitable existing training found. A new Training Objective needs to be created. |
